The Finnish part of EuroVelo 10 starts in the Bothnian Bay, the most northerly part of the Baltic Sea. The bay freezes each year for up to six months but we recommend you visit during the summer months! Following the coastline you eventually reach the region of Kvarken, where the Swedish coast is only 80 km away. The coastal towns of Oulu, Vaasa, Pori and Rauma provide an opportunity for you to replenish your supplies along the way. Heading to Southern Finland, you will pass close to the Åland Islands, an autonomous region within Finland, before arriving in Helsinki, the country’s capital. The final section is along the Gulf of Finland to the border with Russia.
